According to an article in the Washington Post (lol) Arenas creates a game of social doubles and then brings in one of his other accounts along with a guest. The game starts and the dummy accounts leave, receiving a DNF, and Agent Arenas and his cohert receive a win. They are playing social slayer which results in little or no skill gain, but they do pick up experience which increases their rank. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I present to you Exhibit A, Arenas’ Bungie profile. Not that Arenas denies boosting (see the article linked above), but I find it humorous that an NBA star wastes his time running phony games of Halo 3. Now for Exhibit B, a sample offending game. You can clearly see in Exhibit B that the game ends after five seconds and gamertag ’In Yo Head’ receives a did not finish.
Arenas said, "It’s a glitch in the game. I seen some kids that were like 600s, they won 600 Halo games and we only had that game for two weeks. And all the kids go to school. So I’m like, ’What the hell you all doing?’ And they said that’s what they doing, two-on-two." I need a translator for that one.
I do not think glitch is the word as much as exploit it is. It’s not a big deal, I think people will recognize what is going on when some one with a high rank enters a game and has a low skill level. It is real funny that a celebrity got busted abusing the system... wait that’s normal. I think it’s funny a celebrity got busted being lame in Halo.
